Ginormous task!

Being a HUGE fan of Ginormica and Monsters vs Aliens, I'm going to create some artwork in honor of them.  I'm sketching out some ideas now.

In this sketch I was thinking of portraying a younger version of Susan Murphy, aka Ginormica.  The viewpoints alone are challenging enough for an illustrator on my level, but the scale of Ginormica makes it even tougher to compose something satisfying. 
I'm open to ideas and suggestions for dealing with a character this large.  I'll post scans of this project's progress from concept sketch to completed painting.

looking back

Here's a little something from June 2007.  This is one of my early drawings of my character named Yudai Ryuura.  I think I have improved since then, not only on my figure drawing, but on the overall composition of my artwork.  I've been pushing myself to create more lively artwork and filling the background with interesting settings.  In this blog, we'll see how far I've advanced in the last few years.
